Louziba Gr
Type Locality and Naming
Southwest Fujian near Jiangxi. The Louziba Gr was named by the Fujian Compiling Group for Regional Geological Scale in 1979. The typical section is situated in Louziba 30 km southwest of Changting County, Fujian Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Louziba Gr can be subdivided into three lithologic members. Lower member is dominated by greenish gray meta-fine-grained sandstone intercalated with phyllite, meta-siltstone and chert, the phyllite in its upper part locally bears minor magnetite and its top part is more than 60 m of chert. Middle member consists of greenish gray medium-bedded meta-siltstone intercalated with calcareous sandstone, phyllite, slate, chert, locally with lenses of meta-marl. Upper member is composed of greenish gray meta-fine sandstone, siltstone and phyllite intercalated with thin-bedded chert. The top part, bearing phosphorus, occasionally bears black carbonaceous phyllite. The Louziba Group his flat-beddings and obvious rhythmites. The total thickness is more than 6317 m.

Lower contact
The Louziba Gr rests unconformably on the underlying Mayuan Gr
Upper contact
It is disconformably overlain by the Dingwuling Fm

Fossils
The lower member yields microplants: Trachysphaeridium sp., Taeniatum sp., Archaeohystrichosphaeridium sp.; and the middle member yields Micrhystridium sp. and Paleamorpha sp. The upper member yields Microconcetrica sp., Brocholaminarites sp., etc.
